"To The Meyer Family,
I also wanted to express my sympathy for your loss. Sonny was a good man(and fair) and he brought alot of people together in our own little family(the Family being Ocean Lanes Bowlers). Reading the messages above says so much about how he and your family have effected lives. Absolutely, my life included. I am certain there will be many "Sonny" stories that will be told around "the Lanes" by those of us who will miss him dearly.
May he Rest in Peace." |

"Jay,
Having worked for your dad was a pleasure I shall never forget. Sonny often didn't see the "humor" in some of the things I did while in his employ, but always corrected me with a wink and a smile when I messed up.
In a way, you might even say I owe him (along with your Uncle Ed) my life. If not for the health care they provided me back then I may not be typing this today.
Having Hodgkins Disease was no laughing matter no matter how many times Sonny tried to make it so when he and your mom visited me in the hospital. :-)
His life was well-lived, Jay. And neither Debbie nor I will EVER forget that, or him.
Our best to your mom.

"The value of a life well-spent is often measured by the positive affect we have on those around us. For Sonny it was always "for the kids," and had it not been for him, years ago, Shore Conference bowling would not be what it is today. Thank you, Sonny, for giving thousands of kids a positive role model to follow, a safe and friendly place to compete, and for giving them the opportunity to shine their own light." |
Mike McCrae Seaside Park/Manchester, N.J. |
